Timber Rattlesnake (Crotalus horridus) - Lab Processing

I originally took these pictures to use in a presentation about my summer 2006 STRIVE project. (The Arkansas STRIVE program is for science and math teachers...to give them real-world research experience.)

I was paired (after a 6 year hiatus) to work with Dr. Steven Beaupre, Department of Biological Sciences, University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.

⚠ VENOMOUS SNAKES SHOULD ONLY BE PROCESSED BY PROFESSIONAL ⚠ HERPETOLOGISTS.

(With that said, notice that the snake is never pinned, never milked, never free-handled, never put in a position to be hurt or overly stressed, etc.)
