Marbled Salamander (Ambystoma opacum)

Description


Habitats

Mixed pine-hardwood forests, bottomland hardwoods and swamps. In upland areas this species can be found along creek and river valleys.


Habits and Life History

Breeds September to Novemeber in shallow woodland pools and small forest ponds. This species usually lays eggs in damp depressions before they are filled by fall rains.
