Habitats

Found in open woods, prairies, old fields and agricultural areas.

Habits and Life History

Breeds from January to April, calling from thick vegetation in wetlands. This species prefers to breed in open wetlands such as flooded fields, wet prairies and flooded ditches. Also uses open temporary ponds in wooded areas.
