Description

Habitats

This species can be found in cypress and tupelo swamps, backwater areas of bayous and sluggish creeks. It is also found along the margins of swampy lakes and in button bush swamps in bottomland hardwood areas.

Habits and Life History

Breeds from April to July, using small branches over water as calling sites. Good quality bottomland swamps may have large breeding populations.
