Description

Habitats

Found in mixed pine-hardwood forests, bottomlands and urban areas. Also found in pine forests and even clear-cut areas.

Habits and Life History

Breeds from April to July in ponds, swamps and roadside ditches. May also use sluggish streams, lake margins and temporary wetlands. This species is commonly seen hoping on road on warm nights in the spring and summer.
