Eastern Copperhead (Agkistrodon contortrix) - Lab Processing

I originally took these pictures to use in a presentation about my summer 2006 STRIVE project. (The Arkansas STRIVE program is for science and math teachers...to give them real-world research experience.)

I was paired (after a 6 year hiatus) to work with Dr. Steven Beaupre, Department of Biological Sciences, University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.

VENOMOUS SNAKES SHOULD ONLY BE PROCESSED BY PROFESSIONAL HERPETOLOGISTS.

(With that said, notice that the snake is never pinned, never milked, never free-handled, never put in a position to be hurt or overly stressed, etc.)
